Barcelona Beach Promenade

The weather is wonderful, as usual in Barcelona, and you hop on your Segway eager to see the sea. Head towards the W Hotel, designed by world renowned architect Ricardo Bofill and located on the beachfront along the Barceloneta boardwalk. This incredible hotel, a true landmark, has a variety of restaurants if you feel like treating yourself to an amazing culinary experience, they serve local and international specialities, or you can enjoy a fabulous cocktail at Eclipse, on the 26th floor, and enjoy some of the best views of the city and the Mediterranean sea.

From the W Hotel you can ride your Segway along the promenade and enjoy the fantastic sea view, the beach volleyball players and tanning beauties. If you are thirsty,  you can stop at any of the chiringuitos, Spanish for seaside bars, where you can dig your feet in the sand while sipping a drink, true paradise, try the Blue Beach Bar with great burgers and ice cold cocktails.

You can ride further until you reach Shoko, a first class club at night with concerts and wild parties and also a highly recommendable restaurant, mixing Asian and Mediterranean flavours, where you can enjoy at the terrace and relax with a panoramic view of the ocean.

If you are open minded and want a different and less conventional kind of scene, ride along until you get to the Mar Bella beach, where you can enjoy some beautiful nudist beaches, with all sorts of people sunbathing as they came into this world, or have a drink at chiringuito Begay, an elegant and openly gay seaside bar, and immerse yourself in the city’s liberal and open outlook on life.

Stop at any point to dive into the sea, get salty and enjoy the mild waves, Barcelona is a unique place to meet people from all over the world and have a fabulous time, with great weather almost all year round, there is no better way to enjoy the city’s seaside than on your Segway. Ride along at just the right pace to see it all and feel the wind in your face, leave all your worries behind you and welcome the spring in a big way, love is in the air.
