A Tapas and mountain route on your Segway

Fabulous weather is here and it’s time to enjoy the outdoors surrounded by nature. Just hop on your Segway and go all the way up the Montjuic mountain, the so called mountain of the Jews, located between the city and the fortifications built in Medieval ages to defend it. It’s a fantastic ride surrounded by threes you’ll thoroughly enjoy. When you get to the top, you will be able to appreciate the most spectacular panoramic views of the city of Barcelona, covering the city, the seaside and the port, have a drink on the terrace of the Mirador del Poble Sec, on Miramar Road, while you enjoy the views.

There is nowhere better to enjoy Spring than a botanical garden so, you must visit the Jardins of Mossèn Costa Llobera, one of the largest gardens specializing in cacti and succulent plants in Europe, a unique collection of rare botanical specimens. Move around on your Segway, bathe in the sun, take a deep breath, listen to the bird songs and delight yourself in a truly relaxing experience.

You can also indulge your artistic curiosity and pay a highly recommended visit to the MNAC, the National Art Museum of Catalonia, located on top of the hill, where you will learn about one of the best Romanesque art collections in the world as well as being able to enjoy the temporary exhibitions, at the moment and up until the 21st of May you can see the exhibition on William Morris and the Arts & Crafts movement in Great Britain.

By now you must be hungry so, head downhill until you get to a unique pedestrian street in the arty area of Poble Sec, right at the foothill of the Montjuic mountain, the one and only, carrer Blai. You will find one Tapas bar after another, more than 15 different Tapas bars on the very same street and most of them with a terrace, with a wide variety of “montaditos”, a slize of bread with a million different toppings on it, at just 1€ each. You can go from one Tapas bar to the next on your Segway trying to decide which one is your favourite, La Tasqueta de Blai and Taberna Blai Tonight are very popular ones but, do your own
